Caroline Wynter of Willikies Village is the latest centenarian in Antigua and Barbuda. She
\nreached the milestone last Friday, 10 January. The occasion was marked by a celebration at her home on Saturday, in Queens, New York where has been residing since 1982.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The celebrations started with a prayer service led by her Priest and Rector, Rev. Donovan Leys. Among the guests was United Nations Ambassador Dr. Aubrey Webson who made a
\npresentation on behalf of the government and people of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe congratulate you for reaching 100 and we thank you for all of your sacrifices to the nation, working hard in the days when you used to plant cotton and cane, contributing to the nation\u2019s development,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

Another highlight of the celebration was the presentation of a citation by New York City
\nCouncilman Donovan Richards naming her as \u201can outstanding citizen, one whom is worthy of
\nesteem.\u201d<\/p>

A congratulatory message was received from her parliamentary representative Sir Robin
\nYearwood who described her as \u201ca pillar of the community\u201d. Other congratulations were offered the US and Antigua & Barbuda chapters of the Sons &amp; Daughters of Willikies community group.<\/p>\n

Wynter is now the nineteenth centenarian alive for Antigua and Barbuda, and the seventh
\nrecorded from Willikies Village.<\/p>
