The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Electricity Business Unit is pleased to inform persons seeking to re-construct homes in Barbuda that the dual voltages of 115 and 230 will be supplied by the Authority to each new property.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Contractors are hereby advised to take this into consideration when re-wiring structures to
\naccommodate the new system.<\/p>\n

The introduction of 115 voltage to the previous supply of 230 voltage on the sister isle is in compliance with regional standards outlined by the 2014 National Electrical Code
\n(NEC).<\/p>

This will provide more flexibility and convenience to power equipment and appliances, especially
\nthose originating from the US.<\/p>

Previously, all buildings were supplied with the 230 voltage which would have been adjusted using step-down transformers to power appliances or equipment.<\/p>\n
