The government of Antigua and Barbuda is planning robust action for the year 2020 which includes establishing a Criminal Prosecution Services Department in the first quarter of the year.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Attorney General, Steadroy Benjamin, share some of the plans that the government will be embarking on as it regards to the amendments of laws and social development.<\/p>\n

“We will put in place, in the first quarter of next year, the Criminal Prosecution Services department. That department will have control of all criminal matters in the state of Antigua and Barbuda” said Benjamin.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

The Public Safety Minister also revealed that the Health Facilities Act will be reviewed.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

“We will also be looking at the Health Facilities Act. The objectives of this act are two-fold mainly: to set standards to which all persons who offer health and housing to the elderly and to police these buildings, these institutions to make certain they comprise of the minimum standards to provide for the health care of the people of this nation” said Benjamin.<\/p>\n

Benjamin also shed light on the plans regarding social development.<\/p>

“And then, of course, we have a very strong social development agenda, this term in parliament we must protect our citizens and passed laws aim mainly to do that” said the Attorney General.<\/p>\n
