The Ministry of Finance announced to the Cabinet that it has paid for two additional fire engines to be stationed at the V.C. Bird International Airport.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It has also entered into a contract with providers to re-supply quantities of foam required for fire engines at the airport.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The engines and the supplies will reach Antigua in approximately six weeks, or by the end of January 2020.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A recent fire at the airport caused a major scare although it was quickly brought under control.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is not certain whether the decision to purchase the new engines is as a direct result of the tarmac fire.<\/div>\n
