Acting Police Commissioner, Atlee Rodney believes the matter involving Namba’s robbery could have been dealt with differently.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Former government minister, Eleston “Namba” Adams, was the victim of a robbery by a bicycle gang on Sunday Evening and he says his effort to make a formal report to the police was denied by both the Gray’s Farm police station and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).<\/p>\n

“It is not a matter of\u00a0 they not assisting him, it was just a matter of explaining to him that base on where it happened it would have been an CID matter and the CID would be the lead investigator on that. But that doesn’t prevent Gray’s Farm from assisting with the report, so it is an unfortunate situation that he felt like they were refusing him but they were just explaining to him that it is for CID to investigate but we will assist.” Rodney explained.<\/p>

Rodney also added that the police has a good lead of who the perpetrators are based on the information provided by Adams.<\/p>

Addressing Adams’ concerns of the back and forth between departments, Rodney says he is trying to change the culture of the police force to allow citizens to be able to make one call or one visit regardless of the jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
