The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) says the actions of the staff at the VC Bird International Airport have not caused flights (including international departures) to be delayed.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

ABAA CEO, Euletta Francis confirming that there was indeed a \u201cgo-slow\u201d in progress today and that the airport management was not advised of the \u201cgo-slow\u201d beforehand.<\/p>\n

According to Francis, the reason for the \u201cgo-slow\u201d was not made explicitly clear by the staff.<\/p>

Francis said she understood why the staff chose today to carry out such actions as Saturday is one of, if not the busiest day of operations for the airport.<\/p>

Though flight schedules have not been affected, the sheer traffic at the airport means lines have not been moving at an optimal pace. Francis shared that the Authority had put certain mitigating measures in place, which are working as expected.<\/p>\n

Francis concluded that she would be working on bringing a speedy resolution to the situation and work hard to prevent any similar recurrences.<\/p>
