Earlier this week, on Observer Radio\u2019s Dave Lester Payne show,\u00a0attorney Chaku Symister peeled back several layers of clandestine ABLP activity aimed at implicating and entrapping UPP Candidates. Some of these revelations raised questions about the autonomy of the ONDCP and, again, brought the independence of the Police Force into question. However, they also highlighted the depths to which certain ABLP operatives are willing to go to tarnish \u2013 and to attempt to eliminate \u2013 the competition.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, when pressed for details about the arrest of former Tourism Minister Asot Michael, Browne predictably defaulted to his usual slander and transference, accusing several unnamed members of the UPP of engaging in criminal activity.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

We find his accusation ironic, given Mr Browne\u2019s concurrent admission that local law enforcement is also investigating Mr Michael and his earlier statement about all his\u00a0ministers operating at \u201cextremely high ethical standards.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

We also find the latter statement contradictory, since efforts by UPP Political Leader Harold Lovell to have the Integrity Commission investigate certain transactions that might implicate the Prime Minister, himself, have been stonewalled for almost eight months now.<\/p>\n

Given the regional and international contempt recently heaped on his leadership and his economic philosophies, we recognise Mr Browne\u2019s level of stress and nervousness. We are, therefore, anxious about his decision to add Tourism \u2013 the oxygen of the economy now that CIP appears to be comatose \u2013 to his already under-performing portfolios. Mr Browne has proven he has neither the competence nor the temperament to nurse this fragile industry back to health.<\/p>

At this critical time in the Nation\u2019s life, we urge the Prime Minister to rethink his decision, giving it the full, sober and unselfish consideration that Tourism needs and deserves, rather than attempting to divert the Nation\u2019s attention away from his failures by engaging in the propaganda more commonly known as \u201cfake news.\u201d<\/p>\n
