The Political Leader United Progressive Party (UPP), Harold Lovell, has confirmed that Sean Bird interest in joining party and expressed that if he were to become part of UPP, he would be welcomed.<\/p>

\u201cWe expect that someone like Sean, if he were to become a part of the United Progressive Party, that he\u2019s someone that we would welcome into the ranks of the party.\u201d said Lovell.<\/p>\n

According to Lovell, it is not just Sean that has expressed interest in the party.<\/p>

“We are very happy with the type of persons who have been coming forward recently to become part of the United Progressive Party.” he added.<\/p>

Lovell expressed that Bird will be subjected to the regular UPP procedures to determine if he can join the party<\/p>\n

These \u201cprocesses\u201d include a nomination and confirmation by the constituency branches with eventual confirmation by the party\u2019s central executive.<\/p>

The UPP leader confirmed that they will be doing away with the controversial \u2018caretaker\u2019 process and that all candidates will be confirmed by the end of the first quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n
