The Halo\u00a0Foundation\u2019s annual fundraiser, Music For A Cause, will this year donate its proceeds to the children with special needs at the Victory Centre.<\/p>

Governor General, H.E. Sir Rodney Williams said ,\u00a0\u201cThe Halo Foundation\u2019s immediate focus upon those who are differently abled observes the message of the United\u00a0Nations\u00a0\u2018 International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated on December 3rd. \u00a0This message urges us to \u2018promote an understanding of disability issues and\u00a0mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.\u2019 \u00a0\u201c<\/p>\n

President and\u00a0Founder of the Halo\u00a0Foundation, H.E. Lady Williams \u00a0remarked, \u00a0\u201cEvery citizen and company in Antigua and Barbuda should play a part in assisting the differently abled in their efforts to progress and achieve. \u00a0The Halo\u00a0Foundation is acutely aware of the challenges faced. \u00a0Of the 33 charities under our umbrella, three of these offer care for those with special needs. We have provided scholarships to the Victory Centre in the past, and will continue to contribute to the exigencies of this facility when able. “<\/p>

During the last month, Halo has donated to two other special needs causes. \u00a0The\u00a0Foundation handed over a cheque for $100,000 \u00a0to the Friends of the Care Project , and partnered with Dr. Nick Fuller and Roberts Construction in the erection of a workspace for Eric\u00a0\u201cTiger\u201d Charles of Charles & Charles Ornamental Concrete.<\/p>

Music For A\u00a0Cause featured Arturo Tappin, an internationally renowned\u00a0saxophonist from\u00a0Barbados, as well as an exciting line up of local talent including\u00a0Claudette\u00a0\u201cCP\u201d Peters. Authentic cuisine from\u00a0China, India, France and\u00a0Antigua was served throughout the evening.<\/p>\n
