The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports, Culture, National Festivals and the Arts wishes to advise that the \u201cCARIFESTA 2021 Logo Competition\u201d has been extended.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Making the announcement, the Minister responsible for Culture and National Festivals,\u00a0 Daryll Matthew explains that as a sign of respect during this time of mourning due to the unexpected death of CARIFESTA Director and cultural icon, Vaughn Walter MBE, the decision to extend the deadline was most appropriate.<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cVaughn Walter was culture and culture was Vaughn Walter. He lived a life dedicated to the advancement of Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s culture and we are poorer because of his passing. His passion for culture and the arts, and Antigua and Barbuda, is demonstrated by his many years of service to our nation, often times going beyond the call of duty. He will be deeply missed. To his wife Althea, children and immediate family, kindly accept my profound sympathies. May his soul rest in peace\u201d.<\/p>
