Prime Minister the Honourable Gaston Browne, today begins a two-day engagement in the Balkans, where he is one of the featured speakers at a Global Citizen Forum organized by Armand Arton, Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s Economic Envoy, entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of Arton Capital, a leading global financial advisory firm specializing in investor programmes for residency and citizenship.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Browne is among international speakers and philanthropists including Cherie Blair, wife of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and founder of the Cherie Blair Women\u2019s Foundation; Her Excellency Jeannette Kagame, First Lady of Rwanda and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani, member of the Royal Family of Qatar at the Forum which is aimed at fostering discussion and learning about global challenges facing the world today and cultivating the relationships that can lead to answers.<\/p>

\u201cThis year’s topic,\u00a0Global Citizenship – Opportunities in the Age of Uncertainty<\/em>, will bring together global citizens, world leaders, heads of state, members of royal families, philanthropists, celebrities, and thought leaders, to explore the risks and opportunities present in our world’s current state of affairs,\u201d pointed out Mr. Arton.<\/p>

On Thursday, Prime Minister Browne will speak on the topic Global Citizen Action: Rebuilding Shattered Communities, which will focus on the devastation in the Caribbean caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.\u00a0 Later in the day, he will also participate in discussions on Investment for Impact and PPPs: Infrastructure, healthcare, education and economic development with the Honourable Octavian Calmac, Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova and First Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, the Honourable Garegin Melkonyan.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the country\u2019s leader will also engage in a panel discussion on the Reality of Climate Change, following a presentation by renowned American actor and Antigua and Barbuda Economic Envoy Robert De Nero on the topic A Caribbean of the Future. The panel discussion will also include Robert De Nero and Mr. Armand Arton.<\/p>

Speaking on arrival in Montenegro, Prime Minister Browne said that he aims at improving investments in Antigua and Barbuda and raising funds in order to increase the amount of funding available for the rebuilding of Barbuda.<\/p>\n

Officials of the Citizenship Investment Unit along with CIP agents from Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean are also attending the Global Citizenship Forum in Montenegro.<\/p>
