The Dominican Republic\u2019s International flag carrier, PAWA Dominicana has donated a quantity of school supplies to Barbudan and Dominican students affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a brief handing ceremony in the office of the Director of Education\u00a0on Tuesday<\/span><\/span>, PAWA Dominicana\u2019s Country Manager, Alexandra Mora said the airline, cognizant of the effects both hurricanes have had on citizens and residents, wants to play its part in assisting students as they re-settle in new institutions of learning.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cIt is a small donation from PAWA Dominica airline to the children affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria,\u201d Mora noted. \u201cI explained to the director of education how concerned PAWA was about what has taken place and that we will try to put together something that will help to mitigate what the children are experiencing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

In accepting PAWA\u2019s gesture of goodwill, Director of Education, Clare Browne offered appreciation on behalf of the children of Barbuda and Dominica.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHaving these school supplies we are certain will go a long way in helping our children to adjust to classroom life here in our schools on Antigua.<\/span><\/p>

PAWA Dominicana added Antigua to its network of destinations in 2015. The airline operates the Santo Domingo\/Antigua route via St. Maarten twice weekly, Mondays and Fridays. However, according to Country Manager Alexandra Mora, the recent hurricanes have disrupted service, resulting in a once weekly service to Antigua, which will begin\u00a0on Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a07th<\/sup>\u00a0October, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regular operations will resume once post hurricanes Irma and Maria operations are improved.<\/span><\/p>
