The Travel Industry continues to recognise the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority\u2019s summer marketing campaign\u00a0<\/span>#WhatCoolLooksLike<\/a><\/span>, for its innovativeness and effectiveness, rewarding the destination with Best Social Media Campaign, having staged the impactful \u2018Traverse Antigua Conference 2019\u2019, which saw over 30 social media influencers visiting Antigua. In the judges\u2019 words \u201cThis campaign, which brought thirty plus creators to Antigua, hit the top score, highlighting a unique way to approach destination coverage.\u00a0\u00a0The diverse range of photos taken by the influencers effectively highlighted the destination.\u00a0\u00a0Instagram, Facebook and Twitter were well utilised, and reporting was clearly presented.\u00a0\u00a0Content generated clearly showcased Antigua\u2019s key USPs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

Judges also selected\u00a0<\/span>Ainsley\u2019s Caribbean Kitchen \u2013 Antigua<\/a><\/span>\u00a0as Best Broadcast Feature. Ainsley Harriott, who is one of the UK\u2019s favourite TV Chefs, journeyed to the destination in 2018 for a culinary adventure.\u00a0\u00a0In his 9th<\/sup>\u00a0episode of Ainsley\u2019s Caribbean Kitchen Series, Ainsley explores amazing Antigua, taking in the sea, the sights and tastes of the island which leads him to trying his hand at local cuisine at Gina\u2019s Cook Show and Beach Limerz, as well as dabbling with rums at Nicole\u2019s Table and Carlisle Bay.<\/span><\/p>

For his article,\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Antigua beyond the Beaches\u2019<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0which prominently featured in Escapism Magazine, Ronan O\u2019 Shea hit top scores. \u201cThis piece is written, as if one was there, encapsulating all the elements that a Caribbean destination has to offer and highlighting the destination\u2019s diversity of culture, history and modern well-being \u2013 with inspiring photography\u201d, comments the judges.<\/span><\/p>

The Caribbean Tourism Organisation\u2019s Media Awards are held annually and are adjudged by travel trade and media professionals.\u00a0\u00a0The event honours the exceptional work of media in promoting the Caribbean via print, broadcast and online. The 2019 awards within the UK market, saw over 130 entries submitted across eight categories. The CTO Media Awards are also hosted within the US and Canadian markets.<\/span><\/p>
