As relief efforts continue at the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, our Cash Transfer Programme (CTP) commenced (Saturday) at our headquarters Old Parham Road.<\/p>\n

According to President of The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, Michael Joseph, \u201cMore than 350 households\u00a0from Barbuda, affected by Hurricane Irma, will benefit from a fortnightly distribution of more\u00a0than $60,000 USD over the next 3 months to a combined total of $360,000.00 USD.\u201d<\/p>

The disbursements will be made to a Debit Card provided by the International Federation of Red Cross and\u00a0Red Crescent. To date, this brings The Red Cross\u2019 response activities to over $450,000 USD.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Beneficiary of the CTP Knackiesha Spencer of Codrington Barbuda stated that the Programme is very satisfying. She added that it gives beneficiaries a sense of independence and allows them to adequately\u00a0meet their needs.<\/p>\n

The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross will continue its relief efforts and looks forward to working with all\u00a0organizations involved in the response to the passage of Hurricane Irma.<\/p>
