As a part of the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross\u2019 Hurricane Irma Relief efforts, supplies shipped by air from the Red Cross\u2019 Regional warehouse in Panama as well as USAID were distributed to over 300 of the most vulnerable families affected by the disaster.<\/p>

This distribution comes after a weeklong registration process and needs assessment were conducted with affected people residing in shelters and with host families throughout Antigua.<\/p>\n

In this first round of distributions, families were given cases of bottled water, kitchen sets as well as hygiene kits, which would meet their immediate needs.<\/p>

The President of Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, Michael Joseph noted, \u201cIn the long-term, items such as shelter kits and tarpaulins will be provided as residents begin to return to Barbuda to start rebuilding their livelihoods and homes\u201d.<\/p>
