Antigua and Barbuda has moved up the ranks of the Quality of Nationality Index (QNI) surpassing countries like Grenada and St Lucia.<\/span><\/p>

The country remained in\u00a0the High Quality tier of the index\u00a0moving\u00a0up two positions in the world to rank 56, one better than its OECS counterpart St Kitts and Nevis which has ranked 57.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grenada,\u00a067th<\/sup>\u00a0and St Lucia\u00a0at 64\u00a0are, however,\u00a0\u201camongst the\u00a0top\u00a0risers worldwide, gaining 24 and 22 places respectively to secure 67th<\/sup>\u00a0and 64th<\/sup>\u00a0position, moving them from the Medium Quality tier to the High Quality tier on the index,\u201d a release from\u00a0Henley & Partners,<\/i>\u00a0who compiled the 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the ranking, said.<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Commonwealth of Dominica, St\u00a0Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago\u00a0are other\u00a0Caribbean countries that now enjoy High Quality status\u00a0on the QNI.<\/span><\/b><\/p>

Group Director at Henley\u00a0&\u00a0Partners,\u00a0Hugh Morshead,\u00a0spoke of the\u00a0substantial differences between Caribbean\u00a0countries\u00a0in the top 60 of the\u00a0index\u2019sGeneral Ranking, and those such as Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti, which\u00a0fall outside the top 100.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHigher-scoring nationalities generally have stronger economies, greater development and more peace and stability, and their citizens benefit from better travel freedom. The Schengen visa liberalization has significantly extended the travel freedom of many Caribbean nations which is why they are now climbing up the index,\u201d Morshead\u00a0said.<\/span><\/p>

The\u00a0Henley & Partners \u2013 Kochenov Quality of Nationality Index\u00a0<\/i>was published in London\u00a0on Wednesday<\/span><\/span>, and is\u00a0the first of its kind to objectively rank the value of every nationality of the world in terms of legal status in which to develop your talents and business.<\/span><\/p>\n

A variety of\u00a0quantifiable data\u00a0is used\u00a0to determine the opportunities and limitations that\u00a0\u201cour nationalities impose on us\u201d, including\u00a0the quality of life and opportunities for personal growth within a nationality\u2019s country of origin-the internal value of nationality-and the external value of nationality-which identifies the diversity and quality of opportunities that nationalities allow us to pursue outside our country of origin.<\/span><\/p>

Germany had the highest ranking with a score of 82.7 per cent, and has been holding this position for the last five years.\u00a0The\u00a0United States\u00a0ranked 29th<\/sup>\u00a0on the QNI with a score of 68.8\u00a0per cent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
