Barbudan students will commence classes on Antigua on Monday.<\/span><\/p>

To this end, following consultation with parents, 28 first formers will be placed at the newly constructed Sir Novelle Richards Academy.<\/span><\/p>

Director of Education, Clare Browne, said it would have been unwise to have the Barbudan students scattered throughout the public school system in Antigua.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Education officials have therefore\u00a0devised a plan with integration at its core, making it easier for the students to transition into school life\u00a0here.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has commenced the process with secondary students, placing them in \u201cyear level blocks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Second form students will\u00a0attend the\u00a0Clare Hall Secondary School, third formers will be\u00a0placed between\u00a0Antigua Grammar and Antigua Girls\u2019 High schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

All Saints Secondary School will\u00a0see\u00a0all fourth\u00a0formers attend there\u00a0and Princess Margaret\u00a0Secondary\u00a0School, with its wide subject offerings, will accommodate\u00a0fifth formers.<\/span><\/p>

Director Browne\u00a0said\u00a0such a process can prove beneficial in several ways.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cWe explained to the parents that when the time would have come for them (students) to return, if they are in a single school, then they are taught similarly by the same set of teachers. So it will be easy to send across what was covered during the period that they are here,\u201d the\u00a0director noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey (Barbudans) are going to be integrated with the first, second and third formers. In that way, the Antiguan students can benefit from the Barbudan students\u2019\u00a0experiences and the Barbudan students can benefit from the experiences of the Antiguan students. The Antiguan students are able to give support to the Barbudan, as they try to find themselves,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students will be provided with\u00a0three sets\u00a0of uniform through the School Uniform Grant Programme (SUGP).<\/span><\/p>\n

Parents and guardians of secondary\u00a0level\u00a0students are asked to visit the National Public Library\u00a0tomorrow<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(Friday<\/span><\/span>) between\u00a0noon and 2pm<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for a letter to take to the school\u00a0that\u00a0their child\/children will attend.<\/span><\/p>\n
