Director of the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) Philmore Mullin is warning residents against possible complacency hours ahead of the possible arrival of Hurricane Irma.<\/p>

\u201cThere are a lot of [comments] on social media that could suggest that we are not going to be impacted in a very major way,\u201d Mullin said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe system is in a location that is very uncertain. And so, it could shift left, it could shift right, and it could come straight over us,\u201d he warned.<\/p>

Many on social media and in the public at large have made suggestions that the Hurricane would not affect Antigua Barbuda because of its ever-changing trajectory.<\/p>

\u201cThese things don\u2019t always follow the path that they are predicted to follow. We are treating it as though we are going to be impacted directly until we get information that would suggest otherwise,\u201d Mullin said.<\/p>\n
