Former journalist and news broadcaster, Dave George,\u00a0had emergency pneumonectomy (lung surgery) in \u00a0England after falling ill on a British Airways flight to London last weekend.<\/p>

George suffered a bout of excessive vomiting on-board the flight. \u00a0Fluids from the vomiting caused liquids to leak into areas of the lungs which sent George into a state of aspiration pneumonia.<\/p>\n

Aspiration pneumonia is a lung infection that develops after you aspirate (inhale) food, liquid, or vomit into your lungs. You can also aspirate food or liquid from your stomach that backs up into your esophagus.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

George has been in the \u00a0Intensive Care Unit (ICU).<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The former broadcaster is still in a weakened condition and is unable to speak without great discomfort at this time.<\/p>\n

ANR reached out to George through social media, who wrote back, \u201cAt this point, I would say that the prognosis looks good, and yes, doing everything to recover.\u201d<\/p>
