It was an historic day for the Gilbert Agriculture and Rural Development (GARD) Center as the Institution became the first entity in the Eastern Caribbean to be powered by the TESLA Power Wall System.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The TESLA Powerwall System is a\u00a0rechargeable\u00a0lithium-ion battery\u00a0stationary\u00a0energy storage\u00a0products manufactured by\u00a0Tesla Inc.\u00a0The Powerwall is intended to be used for\u00a0home energy storage\u00a0and stores electricity for solar\u00a0self-consumption,\u00a0time of use load shifting,\u00a0backup power, and\u00a0off-the-grid\u00a0use.<\/div>\n

The announcement was made by Mr Aziz Doumith while delivering his address at the official commissioning ceremony on Friday.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Doumith, who is the Operations Manager at the Antigua Computer Technology said that for over 30 years, ACT’s mission has been to bring our community into the future. He added that ACT is honored to be partnering with the GARD Center to install the first ever system of its kind in the entire Eastern Caribbean.<\/div>\n
