In response to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>comments<\/span><\/span>\u00a0made by Prime Minister Gaston Browne yesterday,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Friday, August 9, 2019,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>via social media, George Wehner has instructed\u00a0<\/span><\/span>attorney Charlesworth Tabor<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to initiate legal proceedings against\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Browne in his personal capacity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Wehner categorically denies the comments\u00a0<\/span><\/span>made\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and condemns the prime minister\u2019s action in publishing them.\u00a0 He<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is persuaded that the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>prime minister knew his comments to be untrue and that they were uttered in a calculated attempt to injure the reputation of Wehner and his family.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The untruthful and mischievous comments have since been widely published.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Accordingly, in an attempt to put a stop to the spread of this malicious gossip, and to punish those perpetuating the lie, Mr. Wehner\u2019s legal representative will take immediate action on his behalf.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Wehner says he finds it ironic \u2013 and not a little contradictory \u2013 that the prime minister, who makes laws against cyber bullying, intimidation, and other such reprehensible behaviours, would himself be the chief offender in this regard, using the medium of social media to deliberately smear citizens<\/span><\/span>\u00a0whose support he does not enjoy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
