Officials are monitoring two disturbances across the Atlantic Basin, particularly the one just off of Africa.<\/p>

Both have slight chances of developing into a Tropical Cyclone at this time.<\/p>\n

A tropical wave located over the northeastern Caribbean Sea is\r\nproducing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is\r\nexpected to move west-northwestward with no significant development\r\nduring the next few days, producing locally heavy rainfall over\r\nPuerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Hispaniola, and portions of the\r\nsoutheastern Bahamas. Conditions could become marginally conducive\r\nfor development by the weekend when the disturbance moves near\r\nFlorida and northwestern Bahamas.\r\n* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.\r\n* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.\r\n\r\nA tropical wave accompanied by a broad low pressure system\r\ncontinues to produce a large area of cloudiness and disorganized\r\nshower activity over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, a few\r\nhundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands. No significant\r\ndevelopment of this system is expected for the next few days while\r\nthe it moves westward at 15 to 20 mph.  Upper-level winds could\r\nbecome more conducive for development by the weekend while the wave\r\ncontinues westward across the central Atlantic.\r\n* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.\r\n* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.<\/pre>\n
