The book count of the West Indian Writers Collection at the Public Library got\u00a0 a significant boost with the donation of five brand new novels. The gift was made on behalf of Joseph C. Pereira by his longtime friend and classmate Joseph Jones.<\/p>

Joseph C Pereira is Kittitian born to an Antiguan mother and attended the St. Joseph’s Academy in Antigua. He was a graduate of the class of \u201979 and worked in the UK Civil Service before taking early retirement and moving to Rome where he now lives with his wife Ornella and young daughter Alessia<\/p>\n

His trilogy of fiction novels,\u00a0The Fallen One,\u00a0The Hidden King\u00a0and\u00a0The Turning, explore rich realms of fantastic medieval type landscapes, events and characters, and blends them effortlessly with science fiction and gripping human drama.<\/p>

For those less inclined to this genre, there\u2019s also a couple of novelettes.\u00a0A Place to Belong\u00a0traces the adventures of a young man of mixed heritage trying to find his identity while struggling with the seedier side of city life.\u00a0I Once Was\u00a0offers a glimpse into the harsh, crime riddled life of\u00a0 homeless Gypsy children in Rome, but with an intriguing twist.<\/p>
