Last night\u2019s windy conditions damaged one of the recently installed solar LED street lamps in Lightfoot.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Parts of the panel fell to the ground overnight and residents played their role in removing it from the streets.<\/p>\n

According to Antigua and Barbuda Met Office on Monday, wind speed during the night was approximately 13km\/h.<\/p>

Then even after it was damaged the lamp in question remained on.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

2,000 LED street lamps were donated to government of Antigua by the Peoples Republic of China.<\/p>\n

Installation is still ongoing.<\/p>

Meantime, the theft of solar street lights is continuing.<\/p>\n

Several of them near the Botanic Gardens have been vandalised and stolen.<\/p>
