US President Donald Trump has placed on hold, a plan to begin mass immigration raids against undocumented families in the country.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a>In a statement via Twitter on Saturday, he said that\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u201cat the request of Democrats\u201d the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) would delay the planned mass raids targeting people with deportation orders.<\/p>\n

The raids were scheduled to begin on Sunday.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, according to\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>reports, the\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0the raids were called off in large part because details of the plan had leaked to media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

According to the president,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>he approved the delay for Democrats and Republicans in Congress to work out a compromise on immigration policy , adding that the deal would have to solve \u201cthe Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Congress is unable to strike a deal, \u201cDeportations start!\u201d he said.<\/p>

Meanwhile, in a statement on Saturday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said she hoped that leaders of faith-based and community organizations would \u201ccall upon the President to stop this brutal action which will tear families apart and inject terror into our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThese families are hard-working members of our communities and our country,\u201d Pelosi said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
