Antigua and Barbuda has welcomed a decision by Guyana to stage a trade show in St. John\u2019s next month.<\/p>

The Guyana Trade Show will be held in Antigua, July 19t-20 and the island\u2019s Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration Minister, Paul Chet Greene, said he wanted to place on record, the contribution made by Guyana to the development of his country.<\/p>\n

Greene said Guyana has a large section of its population in Antigua and Barbuda, adding \u201cany Guyanese you miss in Georgetown you can find them in St. Johns\u201d.\u201cI want to go on record here in Guyana indicating our appreciation for those Guyanese who have come to Antigua and made it their home and who have and continue to make critical contributions to national advancement and development,\u201d\u00a0 Greene said Thursday as he held talks with officials from the Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC), which is organising the event.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

GMC general manager, Ida Sealey-Adams, noted the demand for Guyanese products in Antigua as one of the major reasons for the trade show dubbed \u201c\u2018Guyana on Show Part 3\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cGuyana has enjoyed a good trading relationship with Antigua over the years. As a matter of fact, Antigua is our fourth largest exporting destination for fresh and Agro-processed products regionally.\u201d Sealey- Adams said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur main products include our sauces, our pepper sauce and as it relates to our fresh commodities the ones that rank very high there are the Pumpkin, Watermelon, eddoes and a few others,\u201d she said, adding that the event \u201cis expected to improve the trade relationship that we have with Antigua while also finding opportunities where we would be able to further expand trading opportunities\u201d.<\/p>
