A Grays Farm man was fined $80,000 this week for importing 10 pounds of Cannabis.<\/span><\/p>

David Furlong pleaded guilty to possession and importation of the illegal substance in the Magistrates court.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The drugs were shipped in a Lowe\u2019s bucket and Furlong and his sister were arrested when they went to clear items at the cargo section of the airport last week.<\/span><\/p>

The sister pleaded not guilty to the offences and all charges against her were dropped.<\/span><\/p>

Furlong was reprimanded and discharged on the possession offence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For importing the substance, he was ordered to pay $10,000 within 24 hours and the remaining $70,000 within 18 months.<\/span><\/p>
