A price increase has taken effect at the country’s most popular bakery.<\/p>

Brownies, the country’s largest bread and bun supplier, announced the increase which took effect on July 1, at its various outlets across the island.<\/p>\n

Bread goes up by 50 cents from $3.50 to $4.00. The price of the famous bun also went up by 50 cents from $4.00 to\u00a04.50.<\/p>

Various pastries have gone up by 25 cents.<\/p>

The company did not state a reason for the increase but someone close to the operations told Antigua News Room that the increase is keeping with rising costs and inflation.<\/p>
