The mother of Jael Thomas told the High Court she found the 17-year-old faced down on the floor at her mother\u2019s house with her eyes and mouth wide opened.<\/p>

Vashti Cornwall is the first witness to testify at the murder trial of her mother, 70-year-old Millicent Cornwall-Roberts, who is accused of causing the death of the teenager.<\/p>\n

Granny is accused of beating granddaughter to death<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Prosecutors allege that the accused beat the teenager to death in September of 2014.<\/p>

The witness told the court her daughter lived with the accused in Mock Pond, All Saints, while she resided a 5-minute walk away in Burkes, All Saints.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Cornwall said on\u00a0September 21<\/span>\u00a0around\u00a011 pm<\/span>\u00a0she got a call from her mother\u2019s neighbor asking why Jael was out on the streets.<\/p>\n

The woman says she walked over to the accused\u2019s home and discovered the girl had snuck out through a bedroom window.<\/p>

She says after not being able to get in contact with the girl she went back home and didn\u2019t return to the house until the next morning after receiving a call from the accused.<\/p>\n
