Dear Mr. Lovell,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I write to you as a concerned citizen relating to candidates and potential candidates for the upcoming general elections.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I am of the opinion that the United Progressive Party had its best-suited candidates from 2004-2014. \u00a0 The candidates during the said period were either educated, experienced or well suited for their positions. \u00a0 From 2014 to present, I’ve noticed that the party has lost the people\/candidates that brought this party to victory, even as supporters. Nonetheless, the party’s standard for candidates and potential candidates have dropped tremendously.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Mr. Lovell, for this party to come to victory, changes must be made. \u00a0 Some of these candidates and potential candidates cannot construct a proper sentence, some are being charged with battery, while others are allegedly importing illegal drugs into our country. Come, Mr. Lovell, I know you know who they are. \u00a0Is this the best that the UPP can do? \u00a0Or was our honorable prime minister accurate in referring to them as scrapings from the bottom of the pot?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
If these people were to become\u00a0tomorrow’s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0leaders, who would our young people look up to? \u00a0What message would we be sending to our nation? Being a candidate is a position that is to be respected not one that is to be taken for granted.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Mr. Lovell, having positive leaders like yourself can make Antigua and Barbuda good again. \u00a0You still have my respect but you’ve lost my support.<\/div>\n
