The Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association (AHTA) has announced new officers for 2019 – 2021, including the appointment of Vernon A. Jeffers Sr., General Manager at Sugar Ridge Resort, as its new Chairman.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

Mr. Jeffers, served on the Board of Directors for the AHTA for the past eight (8) years and is regarded as one of Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s highly respected Hoteliers. His career started at the International Travel and Resorts (ITR) Marketing firm in New York. He then went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from the City University of New York and continued to his Executive Studies at the Hotel School in the Hague, Holland. He has worked his way through the ranks in various resorts and functioned in the role of General Manager at Long Bay Resort in the BVI, Grand Royal Antiguan, St. James\u2019 Club and Jolly Beach Resort & Spa.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great honor for me to serve as Chairman of the AHTA. I am looking forward to working with my fellow officers, our membership at large and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority in the continued development and growth of the Industry.\u201d remarked Mr. Jeffers.<\/p>\n

Alex deBrito outgoing Chairman will remain on the Board of Directors, assuming the role of First Vice Chairman. He stated that \u201cI have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Jeffers for many years.\u00a0 He is a strong advocate for the Industry and it will be my pleasure to work alongside him.\u201d<\/p>
