The government says the European Union has provided \u20ac5 million Euros to assist with home rebuilding in Codrington, Barbuda.<\/p>

The resources have been turned over to the UNDP which has published the equivalent of tender for the work to be undertaken.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet says it was advised that the requirements published by the UNDP would exclude the local contractors; while those small firms have been engaged in rehabilitation work, they would not be able to present documents showing: a. incorporation as a registered business; b. three years\u2019 of financial records; c. a bond that would be the equivalent of about 1\/3 of the value of the job, and other requirements.<\/p>
