Under the theme \u201cKnelling at Jesus’ feet: Our present help in times of Trouble\u201d, members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda gathered at the St. John\u2019s Pentecostal Church (SJPC) House of Restoration on Wednesday morning for a service of dedication, reflection, praise and worship.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Chaired by pastor and Superintendent of Police Everton Jeffers, the officers were led in songs of praise and worship by four members of the Force and were treated to music by the Police Band.<\/p>\n

Addressing over 200 rank and file members of the Police Force, Apostle Cedric Forbes, charged them to go out and perform their duties.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He told them that being a police officer was not a job but a calling, adding that they were men of God who were called to serve in that capacity.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Apostle Forbes reminded the officers that they were important to the nation, as Antigua and Barbuda needed good officers.<\/p>\n

He encouraged them to walk with their heads held high, and to keep their integrity, avoiding corrupt practices. He also reminded them to keep the core values and mission of the Police Force stating that those who were only in the service for a salary and promotion should leave now.<\/p>

Commissioner of Police, Wendell Robinson said that as a Force, they should not only be looking to God for help when issues arise, but it was only right and proper to always seek God for deliverance and protection.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Robinson noted that it was through God\u2019s grace that there have been no injuries or deaths of police officers while on duty thus far for the year, and he prayed that as the officers face the second half of the year that this would remain the case.<\/p>

The service drew to a close with prayers for the Force by Apostle Forbes and prayers for the officers, those who were sick, destitute, in difficulties as well as families, was delivered by Arch Deacon Franklyn Reid.<\/p>
