A ferry carrying dozens of Antigua and Barbuda’s Police Force Band members has been diverted to Nevis due to rough seas.<\/p>

The Monserrat Ferry left the Emerald Isle this morning with military and paramilitary personnel from several islands.<\/p>\n

The groups were leaving Montserrat after taking part in activities to mark the Queen\u2019s 91st birthday.<\/p>

But as it approached its first stop St. Kitts, the captain diverted and went to the sister isle Nevis because of the rough seas.<\/p>

Monserrat Ferry officials tell Antigua News Room that the vessel will try to leave Nevis by 4 p.m. to take the remaining passengers to Antigua, its final stop on the journey.<\/p>\n

The Met office says moderate to locally rough waves 1.5 to 2.1m or 5 to 7 ft. are expected today.<\/p>
