Efforts are ongoing to ensure that fire officers and first responders become certified Emergency Medical Technicians.<\/p>

The Ministry of Public Safety ensured that members of the Fire department were involved in a Seminar conducted by the Qmentum International Accreditation Program.<\/p>\n

Superintendents of Police (Fire Department) Rohan Rodney and Vinceroy Thompson along with two Fire EMT officers attended a seminar conducted by the Qmentum International Accreditation Program. The Qmentum International Accreditation is a Canadian organization located in Ottawa Canada who\u2019s objective is to stimulate Policymakers and the public to improve the quality and safety of health and social services for all. The Seminar, which was conducted by Alessandro Buriani and Ali Hojjati, was a whole day event and was held at the Mount St. John\u2019s Medical Center on 11th<\/sup>, May.<\/p>

Other participants present were medical and administrative staff of the MSJMC and private Doctors. \u00a0Participants were informed about the Qmentum Accreditation Program, familiarized with the activities performed during the Accreditation program, team leadership, planning and organizing techniques, understand the Qmentum standard Structure, survey process and how to develop an Action plan based on an area of improvement.<\/p>

The program\u2019s main objective was to inform and assimilate participants of the rewards for working with the Qmentum Accreditation program. Families, patients, clients and top managers benefit significantly as they experience better outcomes, increased efficiency, enhanced quality and safety, reduced risk when providing or receiving medical assistance.<\/p>\n
