In keeping with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment\u2019s National Cleanup program which began in 2018, the Ministry is once again embarking on a robust campaign. This time, it comes as the country is preparing to host \u201cplay it out to phase it out\u201d concert to be held here in Antigua on June 1st <\/sup>at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Ministry is therefore advising owners of all abandoned motor vehicles and other equipment engaged in the transportation of any kind that is stored on public property, to have them removed within the next seven (7) days.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

Any vehicle that is deemed to be abandoned by the relevant authority will be moved without any further notice, 7 days from today (May 10th<\/sup>, 2019).<\/p>

Authority has been given to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment under the Litter Control and Prevention Act 2019 to remove derelict vehicles from public places.<\/p>\n

Section two (2) sub-section (13) of the bill, gives the local authority permission to give notice to the owner of the vehicle that it will be removed within a 24 hours timeframe while section (14) details the way in which the vehicle will be disposed of after 90 days.<\/p>
