A potential candidate for the United Progressive Party has pointed to a \u201ccavalier\u201d attitude in which the Labour Party treats promises made in its 2014 manifesto.<\/p>

Joan Underwood said the manifesto is a social contract which resulted in a 14-3 victory for the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party.<\/p>\n

But she said it was being cast aside by the ruling party and argued that broken promises were not being explained.<\/p>

She told a local radio programme that while on one hand the government enacted updated environment laws, \u201cWe also have had significant attacks and damage done to our environment.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Underwood said the YIDA investment is an example of \u201cdamage that has been done to our wetlands.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said there are reports that the development of new lands will benefit \u201csome members of cabinet\u201d and argued that the water problem has only improved \u201cmarginally.\u201d<\/p>

The UPP caretaker for St. John\u2019s Rural North Constituency,\u00a0said the shifting of the goal post for the 500 homes in 500 days project is a prime example of a failed manifesto promise.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the government will hand over 48 keys to the homes after three years.<\/p>
