Education Ministry Launches 6th Research Symposium<\/strong><\/p>

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will officially launch its 6th Research Symposium on Tuesday with an opening ceremony at the John E. St. Luce Building beginning at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will also be streamed live by the Ministry of Education\u2019s Education Broadcasting Unit.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to the Ministry, the symposium is designed to promote research that informs policy, strengthens classroom practice and supports innovation in education.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday\u2019s opening ceremony will feature presentations focused on mathematics achievement and family-related research themes. Presenters listed for the launch include Shoya Hurst and student researcher Kelsey Cochrane, while Allison Ledeatte will serve as moderator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium will continue on Wednesday evening with the first formal session of Research Symposium 2026 taking place virtually from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. AST.<\/p>

Topics for the Wednesday session include the conversion of sargassum seaweed, cancer diagnosis and disease staging, unused medication disposal, and the CSEC music education curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenters for the virtual session include Resa Nelson, Dr. Andre Bovell, Ellisa Zakers, and student presenters Nivron Browne, Sheneela Deane and Jedidiah Christian, with Sharifa George serving as moderator.<\/p>
