The United Nations Youth Advisory Group has congratulated Shaquan O\u2019Neil following his appointment to the Senate of Antigua and Barbuda, describing the move as historic and praising his long-standing advocacy for young people across the Caribbean.<\/p>

In a social media post published Sunday by the UN Barbados and OECS office, the organization noted that O\u2019Neil\u2019s appointment makes him \u201cthe youngest person ever to hold the position\u201d in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShaquan, a UN Youth Advisory Group member and National Youth Ambassador, has long been a voice for young people in the Caribbean,\u201d the statement said. \u201cNow, he takes that voice to the highest levels of national decision-making.\u201d<\/p>

The UN Youth Advisory Group also commended O\u2019Neil\u2019s leadership and dedication to public service, expressing confidence that he would continue to inspire and empower youth throughout the region.<\/p>
