Sazeek Joseph has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of attempting to rape an 18-year-old woman.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A jury convicted him in March of attempted rape and serious indecency. He received four years for the attempted rape and one year for serious indecency, to run concurrently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charges stem from an incident in June 2022. The court heard that Joseph drove the woman to a secluded area and attempted to assault her. She resisted and later recorded part of their interaction, in which he admitted damaging her clothing.<\/p>

Prosecutors said he later assaulted her again before she managed to get away and report the matter to police the same day.<\/p>

Jurors were shown messages, audio recordings and physical evidence. Joseph gave conflicting accounts, which were rejected by the jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was remanded after conviction and sentenced on Tuesday.<\/p>
