It seems quite likely that the Caribbean eSports Federation Alliance is going to achieve their stated goals. The organization is reportedly backed by some stable and reliable stakeholders<\/a> from the region and overseas. Experts predict that the alliance is going to accelerate the growth of the local industry and may even draw the attention of the global sector. How fast CEFA will achieve their goal remains to be seen. But the future of the industry in the region certainly looks to be a bright one.<\/p>

The heart of a competitive industry is the competition. The Caribbean eSports sector cannot thrive if there aren\u2019t any tournaments to foster the competitive spirit of the local gamers. It is why Digicel and Game Nation have stepped up to the task, and are doing some fantastic work in promoting eSports in the area. The two organizations have collaborated on multiple occasions to foster the eSports sector in the Caribbean.<\/p>

The biggest goal right now seems to be promoting eSports online. The competitive gaming hobby is intricately tied to the world wide web after all. It is why the focus has been on broadcasting FIFA games online for a global audience. The campaign to get more eyes on Caribbean gamers has proven relatively successful. The Jamaican eSports Initiative played an especially big role in the whole affair, organizing an event comprised of over a hundred and sixty participants. Outdoor pickleball<\/a> is just as much of a competitor for eSports as is the ever-expanding streaming market for example. The Big Games in the Caribbean<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The growing success of eSports means that most regions in the world will naturally flock to the same games eventually. International appeal is more important than regional for most high-performing sports. But that doesn\u2019t mean that certain places can\u2019t have a bustling national industry. While Fortnite and League of Legends may be games that the Caribbean eSports sector is focusing on, there are those who are curious what the biggest games are in the region outside of the obvious?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We brought up that Digicel and Game Nation were organizing a FIFA tournament before. The reason is that the EA Games-created football video games are a huge success in countries like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. It ought not shock many to learn this, considering the success of the actual sport in the region. Football is the most popular sport across the Caribbean, and plenty of these coutnries have produced athletes that have gone on to attain global recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Caribbean eSports scene is also pretty big on fighting games. Especially noteworthy is the Street Fighter VI: King of the Hill tournament which kicked off near the tail end of last year. Caribbean players have shown to be quite skilled when it comes to fighting games. Many of the local talent is capable of executing fast combos and mastering their choice character beyond what one expects from the average player. But the talents go beyond just Street Fighter<\/a>. The success of eSports in the Caribbean is almost guaranteed to improve in the years to come. Fans are looking forward to the Central American and Caribbean Games that are scheduled to take place in Santo Domingo this year. But the growth of the industry is not just due to commercial success. Technological improvements have also allowed for more local players to rise through the ranks.
