Their Excellencies Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, and Lady Williams attended the St. John Hospice fundraiser, \u201cWash You Foot and Come,\u201d held at Casa Palmadita, Fitches Creek, on Sunday, 3 May 2026.<\/p>

The St. John Hospice falls under the patronage of Their Excellencies and continues to provide compassionate care and support for terminally ill persons and their families. The fundraiser was held in aid of the Hospice\u2019s ongoing work and brought together supporters, well-wishers, volunteers, and members of the wider community in a spirit of generosity and fellowship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams delivered brief remarks in which he commended the Hospice for its quiet but deeply meaningful service to the nation. He noted that the work of the Hospice is rooted in dignity, comfort, and love, and encouraged those present to continue supporting the institution through donations, volunteerism, and public advocacy.<\/p>

Her Excellency Lady Williams presented a donation to Ms. Charlene Selkridge, Chair of the Planning Committee for the event, on behalf of The Halo Foundation. The Foundation has been pleased to support the St. John Hospice over the years, in keeping with its commitment to care, compassion, and service to vulnerable members of the community.<\/p>

The programme was ably guided by Mr. Colin Maynard, the newest member of the St. John Hospice Board, who served as Master of Ceremonies. Guests were also treated to excellent musical entertainment provided by Armani Gomes on pan, Garrett Gill on guitar, and Jevonte on keyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their Excellencies expressed appreciation to Ms. Selkridge and the Planning Committee, the Board and management of the St. John Hospice, the staff, caregivers, volunteers, sponsors, performers, and all who contributed to the success of the event.<\/p>

The fundraiser served not only as an opportunity to raise much-needed funds, but also to heighten awareness of the vital role played by the St. John Hospice in providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to families across Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n
