ABLP Candidate Chet Greene Says Water Supply Improving in St. Paul After New Pump Installations<\/strong><\/p>

E. P. Chet Greene, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party candidate for St. Paul, says water supply in parts of the constituency has improved following the installation of new pumping systems, with additional upgrades planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a \u201cKnow Your Candidate\u201d interview, Greene said recent work by the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has begun to ease longstanding issues, particularly in higher elevation areas.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe finally got a pump in place in Tyrell\u2019s, which drives water into the higher areas of the community of Liberta,\u201d Greene said. \u201cAs we speak here this morning, there\u2019s improvement in water flows because the pump has been installed\u2026 and the water is now flowing more readily, more freely into the homes.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He said further upgrades are planned, including expansion of the reverse osmosis plant at Pigeon Point to meet growing demand from both residents and the yachting sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m told by Minister Nicholas and his team that they\u2019re going to now expand that plant so it becomes more effective, even as we have more yachts coming, bigger yachts coming,\u201d Greene said.<\/p>

Additional work is also expected in Falmouth, where a new pump is being planned to improve supply to higher areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey also plan to put a pump in Falmouth to drive water from that pump into the higher areas of Falmouth and Piccadilly,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Greene acknowledged that water shortages have been a major concern for residents and said the issue had previously affected public sentiment.<\/p>
