Browne Dismisses UPP Plans as \u2018ChatGPT Manifesto\u2019 at Mass Rally<\/strong><\/p>

Prime Minister Gaston Browne on Saturday night dismissed the United Progressive Party\u2019s policy platform as a \u201cChatGPT manifesto,\u201d telling a crowd of about 10,000 supporters that the opposition\u2019s proposals lack credibility, planning and economic grounding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen you look at this so-called manifesto, they don\u2019t have a written manifesto. They have a ChatGPT document that they posted on the website,\u201d Browne said during a major Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party rally.<\/p>

The remark drew strong reactions from the crowd and marked one of the sharpest lines of the campaign, as Browne sought to undermine the opposition\u2019s credibility in the final days before the April 30 general election.<\/p>

He argued that the UPP\u2019s proposals are not supported by proper analysis, warning voters against what he described as unrealistic promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re making big promises, but they have no plans. They have not done the math\u2026 no analysis to determine affordability, viability, reliability, or sustainability,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>

Browne accused the opposition of attempting to win support through broad pledges without a clear roadmap for implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are just literally throwing things out there with the hope that they could hook people to vote for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He also warned that such an approach could have economic consequences, suggesting that poorly designed policies could lead to increased debt or taxation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s one of two things\u2026 they will drive the country into massive debt once again\u2026 or they will tax you out of existence,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister contrasted this with his administration\u2019s record, pointing to a reduction in the national debt over the past decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe brought down the debt from 110% in 2014 down to 61% today. We\u2019re not going back there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rally, one of the largest of the campaign season, combined entertainment with political messaging and highlighted the ABLP\u2019s strategy of framing the election as a choice between what it describes as proven governance and what it characterises as untested proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With campaigning entering its final stretch, Browne\u2019s \u201cChatGPT manifesto\u201d remark is likely to feature prominently in the political discourse as both parties intensify efforts to secure voter support.<\/p>\n
