Prime Minister Gaston Browne told a crowd of about 10,000 supporters on Saturday night that opposition leader Jamale Pringle is \u201cnot ready yet\u201d to lead Antigua and Barbuda, warning voters against what he described as the risks of changing leadership ahead of the April 30 general election.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet us be honest, Jamale Pringle is just not ready yet,\u201d Browne said, before cautioning supporters, \u201cThis is not a time\u2026 to risk the future of this country with proven failures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing one of the largest rallies of the campaign, Browne framed the election as a choice between stability and uncertainty, repeatedly stressing that leadership should be the central consideration for voters.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is not a time for you to stand back. This is not a time for you to watch on\u2026 this is not a time for you to risk the future of this country,\u201d he said, urging supporters to \u201cstand with certainty, with reliability, and strong leadership.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne contrasted his administration\u2019s record with that of the United Progressive Party (UPP), arguing that internal divisions within the opposition raise doubts about its readiness to govern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe UPP is in chaos. They\u2019re divided. They\u2019re struggling for power. They\u2019re literally pulling in different directions\u2026 sinking their ship,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf they can\u2019t run a party, how can you expect them to run a country?\u201d Browne added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also dismissed the opposition\u2019s proposals, claiming they lack proper planning and could destabilise the economy.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re making big promises, but they have no plans. They have not done the math\u2026 no analysis to determine affordability, viability, reliability, or sustainability,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne warned that such policies could reverse economic gains, pointing to his administration\u2019s reduction of the national debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe brought down the debt from 110% in 2014 down to 61% today. We\u2019re not going back there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that an opposition-led government could lead to higher taxes and renewed financial strain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey will drive the country into massive debt once again\u2026 or they will tax you out of existence\u2026 and take you back to the IMF,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his address, Browne returned to the theme of leadership, urging voters to back what he described as proven governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is your time\u2026 to stand tall with confidence, with pride, and with dignity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rally, which blended political messaging with entertainment, marked a major show of support for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party in the final days of campaigning, as both major parties intensify efforts ahead of polling day.<\/p>\n
