ABEC Reports Over 31,000 Voter ID Transactions as Replacement Programme Nears Completion<\/strong><\/p>

The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) says more than 31,000 voter identification card transactions have been processed as the nationwide replacement programme continues ahead of the April 30 general election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Commission\u2019s latest cumulative report, a total of 31,630 transactions have been recorded, including replacement and new applications processed between January and April 2026.<\/p>

The data shows varying levels of completion across constituencies, with St. Peter recording the highest completion rate at 91 percent, followed by Barbuda at 78 percent and St. Philip North at 76 percent. Several constituencies, including St. John\u2019s Rural South and St. John\u2019s City West, remain around the 60 percent mark.<\/p>

ABEC\u2019s weekly report for the period April 19\u201325 indicates a total of 1,327 replacement applications processed during that week alone, alongside 178 new applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily figures show activity peaked earlier in the week, with 393 applications processed on April 20 and 335 on April 21, before tapering to 239 by April 23.<\/p>

Among constituencies, All Saints West recorded one of the highest weekly totals with 128 applications, while St. George followed closely with 129. St. John\u2019s Rural West also saw significant activity with 139 applications processed during the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figures reflect a sustained push to ensure eligible voters receive updated identification cards ahead of polling day, with the Commission continuing to urge residents to complete the process.<\/p>
