Subject:  Algorithm for Public Servants Retroactive Payment Calculation (2018-2023 Contract Period)<\/strong><\/p>

Dear Sisters and Brothers,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Antigua and Barbuda Trade Union Congress acknowledges that many eligible public servants remain uncertain about how to determine the final retroactive amount owed for 2018 \u2013 2023 contract period.<\/strong><\/p>

To address this, we are sharing the following algorithm to assist you in overcoming this issue.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

For Public Servants Employed January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Multiply your substantive salary as of January 1, 2019 by 0.05<\/strong> then by 12.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Multiply your substantive salary as of January 1, 2020 by 0.092<\/strong> then by the number of months you work from 2020 \u2013 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Add the result from steps 1 and 2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Add the extra month\u2019s salary you received in 2022, 2024 and 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Subtract your previous result from step 3.\u00a0 The answer represents the final retroactive amount owed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Example Calculation \u2013 Public Servant X<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

         Employment Period: <\/strong>January 1, 2019 to beyond December 31, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         Substantive Salary (as January 1, 2019): <\/strong>= $2754.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         Months worked (2020 \u2013 2023):<\/strong> 48<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Extra Month\u2019s Salary Received<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                ~2022 = $2754.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                ~2024 = $3008.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                ~2025 = $3392.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n
