Speaking during an ABS \u201cKnow Your Candidate\u201d interview, George pointed to the absence of a direct route between the two communities, noting that residents currently rely on longer, indirect roadways to move between key parts of the constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can remember as a child, we used to walk from Bowlands to Jennings\u2026 so I think that we need a bridge between Jennings and Bowlands to connect the two,\u201d George said.<\/p>

The proposal is being framed as both an infrastructure upgrade and an economic enabler. George said the link could ease movement for taxi operators and improve access to nearby tourism zones, particularly in areas closer to Jolly Harbour and the southwest coast.<\/p>

Beyond transport convenience, the candidate tied the project to broader development in the constituency, where fishing, agriculture and tourism form key pillars of the local economy. Improved connectivity, he argued, would support these sectors by reducing travel time and expanding access between communities.<\/p>
