ST. JOHN\u2019S, Antigua \u2014 More than 30,000 voter ID cards have been replaced ahead of the April 30 general election, according to the latest report from the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC), with several constituencies nearing full compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commission\u2019s \u201cReplacement Voter ID Card Official Report\u201d shows a grand total of 30,392 applications processed as of April 2026, reflecting a sharp increase in activity over recent weeks.<\/p>

April alone accounted for 7,041 applications, driven by a surge in mid-month demand. Weekly figures show 2,894 applications between April 5\u201311 and 2,981 between April 12\u201318, marking the busiest periods in the replacement drive.<\/p>

Among constituencies, St. Peter leads with 89% completion, followed by Barbuda at 77% and St. Philip North at 75%. Other districts such as All Saints West (67%), St. Mary\u2019s South (66%), and St. George (63%) also recorded strong participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lower completion rates were observed in urban constituencies, including St. John\u2019s Rural South (57%) and St. John\u2019s Rural West (58%), though all areas have surpassed the halfway mark.<\/p>
