traditional bank financing\u2014at concessional rates of between 2% and 3%, with repayment periods of up to 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll be giving loans directly to individuals who ordinarily would not qualify for bank loans\u2026 and make it really affordable,\u201d Browne said.<\/p><div id=\"antig-2685107460\" class=\"antig-content_2 antig-entity-placement\"><a through what he described as the SURF Fund. The new financing, he said, would allow the government to scale up those efforts nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis will help us to accelerate that housing renewal that we are trying to achieve throughout the country,\u201d Browne said, noting that the programme would extend beyond urban areas into communities where dilapidated homes remain a concern.<\/p><div id=\"antig-1148899336\"
